ABOUT US
MCL: A Family Owned Company Since 1935
Now in its fourth generation owned and managed by the Piersall/Lavin family, MCL Ventures has been an integral part of Wilton's rich history. With five buildings managed by a staff of 5, it is hard to imagine that MCL once started with a simple, family grocery store in Wilton Center.
The Village Market is well known by residents of Wilton for its fresh produce, excellent butchers, and friendly, accommodating staff. "The Market" was founded at the height of the Great Depression by Ralph Piersall. Ralph ran the store with great skill, providing his own, home grown produce, while his wife, Emma, provided homemade pies.
When his son-in-law Marce Lavin, joined the business, Marce foresaw a bright future in which Wilton streets were lined with businesses, which were housed in buildings that he and his father-in-law had built.
From there, Marce and Ralph built MCL from the ground up, and named it for Marce's three children, Mark, Chris, and Laurie.
Chris and Laurie now co-own and manage the many properties built by their father and grandfather. Chris' son, Sam, has now joined the business, giving way to MCL's fourth generation of property ownership and management. The entire family is very active in the Wilton community, including the Rotary Club, Wilton Historical Society, and Homefront.
Today, Wilton is exactly what Marce and Ralph may have pictured. With a population of over 18,000, a bustling center that still maintains a small town ambiance, and one of the finest school districts in the state, Wilton is a perfect town for businesses and professionals.
